Poor Major is a bit out of sorts.  Having wormed him a few weeks ago, I've just given him another dose because I think he may have Pinworm.  Poor boy has been rubbing his bum since the weekend till underneath his tail resembled a raw steak.  The vet has given him a steroid injection and he is on a course of pills.  He also has to suffer the indignity of having his bum thoroughly washed every day.  I am just about to have a mammoth washing session of rugs and grooming kit.  Vet is back tomorrow to take some scrapings to try and identify the cause.  His lovely tail now looks like a bird's nest.  If he's not too embarrassed, I'll try and get some photos tomorrow.
