14.4.12

It's been an exciting couple of days.  On Friday afternoon, I was put in a box and driven to a place I'd never been before.  After a couple of hours, I was tacked up and ridden by a lady I'd not met before but it was only for 10 minutes so I didn't mind.  Then my owner took me to a very small paddock and left me there all night.  I heard her telling someone it was like leaving me at boarding school.  I was very lonely that night as I was missing all my horse pals from my home.
When my owner came to get me the next morning I was so pleased to see her I called and called as soon as I saw her.  She said it was the most she had heard me speak in the whole six years she's had me.  Normally I only give her a little nostril whicker ( I'm a horse of few words) but I thought I was never going to see her again.
Anyway, she brought me in and gave me lots of hay.  Then the lady who rode me yesterday tacked me up again and this time I was in the arena with three other horses I didn't know.  They all looked very sleek and shiny and had all their hair clipped.  My owner said I looked like the country bumpkin - whatever that means.  It was VERY HARD WORK!  The arena was SO big and I had to do lots of trotting and cantering round and round.  All I wanted to do was lie down and have a big roll but I thought that would not be a good idea.  I was so glad when the hour ended so I could get back to the hay net.  Luckily, I heard my owner saying that she thought I'd had enough and did not want me to have the second session in the afternoon.  Phew!
Here are just some of my fans who had come to watch me!  Well, after a very long rest, I was put back in the box and taken home again.  I was very happy to see all my friends again and had already planned just what I was going to tell them about my trip!  Not sure I want to do another one in a hurry.

  3. I don't think you look like a country bumpkin I think you look absolutely stunning with your mane flowing in the breeze. Just as nature intended before humans interfered. Minus mud of course. Humans just don't get the whole mud thing do they?
