No, this is not a beauty spot! Apparently, I seem to have acquired something called ringworm. My owner isn't surprised because, to date, 19 other horses have it too. It was brought in by a new horse on the yard a couple of months ago and seems to be making its way round all of us. My owner has something to help get rid of it and I am being subjected to lots of face wiping with the stuff. Seems like only a few months ago I was being washed constantly at my other end for the pinworm! I hope this won't take as long to disappear.

Well Major, it's not a big deal to get a rub on the nose until your problem is gone. It's usually a quick fix.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, if its not one end its the other. Hope that ringworm is gone soon.
ReplyDeleteIts a stubborn little virus, needs good management, which you have. So here`s to the Spring, and winters passing!
ReplyDeleteOh, you poor thing. My Quasar would go ballistic if she had to have her face wiped. You are a brave boy.
ReplyDeleteMy Quasar has a very small bare dot on her back when she is in her summer coat because of a redworm infestation years ago, with the woman who bred her. I don't blame the woman at all because I know it's easy to 'take your eye off the ball' with worming.
Oh bless MAjor, I hope that nasty ringworm has gone, I bet you get lots of tickles from your owner though. Grrrrr to the ringworm x
